Balatro rules! I got no real complaints aside from the amount of extra time I've spent playing it. Its got the fun of deck building combined with the simple goal of make number get big. Its like poker which i am bad at, but with cheating being a core part of the game. Like how pazaak is just blackjack with cheating. I love when games like you crack them open as part of the design. Another big benefit is a run lasts like 20min so I'm not sucked in for too long. It is and probably will remain my number one mobile game to play on the toilet, at the doctors office, at the mechanics, just sorta sitting around at home, etc.
Balatro has all the number go up satisfying feedback of an absolutely predatory piece of shit "get the kids to gamble game" but with no gambling whatsoever. The fact pegi hit this shit with an 18+ rating for looking like gambling is a crime. All while every big studio game has actual real gambling in it where you cant even win money, just skins or some other bullshit that used to just be a part of the game. Balatro has actually given me a more enjoyable ride moment to moment than any overly polished gacha mobile garbage as well.
